Ranchi: The Centre has appreciated Jharkhand Urban Development Department’s initiative for providing training as well as employment to youths of the state by implementing the Swarn Jayanti Sahari Rozgar Yojana (SJSRY).

In order to make this scheme successful in the state, the Department has selected only those institutions which can provide training as well as guarantee of job placement for the youths.

The Department has proposed to constitute separate cell and recruiting the employees on contractual basis to monitor the scheme. The meeting Chaired by Under Secretary A Mohanty has suggested to implement the Jharkhand’s initiative in other states too.

It is worth mentioning that Jharkhand Urban Development Department had invited only those institutions having better infrastructure, required human resources and training site with record of providing employment to at least 50 percent youths.

Eight Companies have reflected interest in the proposal of providing training cum placement to the youths. The Department is preparing comparative details of the proposals by the Companies.

The Centre had previously released Rs 4.77 crore for the SJSRY project in Jharkhand. In wake of the success of the project, the Centre has granted an additional fund to the tune of Rs 16 crore for the state.
