New Delhi: In a bid to provide free education to children in the age group of 6-14 under the Right to Education Act, the Central government has approved opening of more than 10,000 primary and 1000 upper primary schools in Uttar Pradesh.

The Centre has also created almost 24,000 posts for teachers for the proposed primary schools in the state.

Ministry of Human Resource Development approved the opening of these schools in a meeting on Thursday.

Proposal to provide school uniforms to 1.75 crore children in the state has also been approved by the Central Government.

It should be noted that the UP Government had issued notification for implementing the Right to Education Act in last July.
