New Delhi: With Delhi turning 100, the Lok Sabha passed a bill that seeks to extend special provisions for the National Capital Territory (NCT) for three more years, which will allow the Centre to finalize the policies for Delhi Master Plan 2021.

The National Capital Territory of Delhi Laws (Special Provisions) Second Bill 2011, introduced in the Lok Sabha on Monday, proposes to come into force from January 1, 2012 and covers many challenges thrown up by growing urbanisation.

While citing his viewpoints regarding The National Capital Territory of Delhi Laws (Special Provisions) Bill, 2011, Urban Development Minister Kamal Nath admitted that the there are many glitches in several civic agencies and promised to prepare an ideal plan for granting complete statehood to Delhi.

The issues including sealing, irregularities in DDA, slow pace and unorganized development, laxity in the government agencies received strong disagreement from several Opposition parties in the Lok Sabha.
