Ranchi: Here is a piece of good news for devotees visiting the ‘abode of Gods’ at Deoghar. In a major relief to the pilgrims coming to Baidyanathdham, the Ministry of Civil Aviation has given green signal to the airport project in Deoghar.

The Aviation Ministry on Wednesday gave approval to the Civil Aviation Department and Indian Airport Authority to sign the Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) for connecting Deoghar through air routes.

The new airport project is expected to give burden of Rs 390 crore on the exchequer.

Subsequently, the Central Government will grant Rs 300 crore through the Planning Commission and the remaining fund of Rs 90 crore will be released by the state government.

For the construction of airport 655 acres of land will be acquired in Deoghar.

Apart from this the Jharkhand government is also planning to promote the silk industry in the state. Regarding this, the state government has decided to grant Rs 7.37 crore.
