"Central ministers come to Uttar Pradesh and criticize our government. They have started demanding our resignations. Till what time should we continue our support?" SP national general secretary Naresh Agarwal said.
"We may suffer losses in (upcoming Lok Sabha) elections (due to the support)," he said before attending the party's state executive meeting in Lucknow.
Agarwal said that his party had supported the Congress-led UPA government at the Centre to keep communal forces at bay, but it was ‘unleashing political vendetta and ignoring the interest of the state.’
"All these factors may force us to reconsider our decision to support the UPA government," he said.
Samajwadi Party, with 22 Lok Sabha MPs, supports the UPA from the outside.
