New Delhi: Deeply concerned over the high cut-off being a hurdle in the way of filing reserved seats for OBC in Delhi University, HRD Minister Kapil Sibal on Thursday said the Central government is contemplating to move the Supreme Court in this regard.

While addressing media persons here on Thursday, Sibal said, “The existing education system is working against the policy of access to education.”

As the 90 percent cut-off after the recommendation of the government is not helping OBC students take admissions in Delhi University, Sibal said, “The government is looking forward to several options, including the step to move the Apex Court, but I have not taken a final decision in this context.”

The HRD Minister added that single country-wide examination can also become a criterion in this regard and government is planning to implement it by 2013.

Asked about fake admission racket in Delhi, he said, “Centre is really concerned with such scams and trying to find out possible solutions to prevent them in future.”
