New Delhi: The Ministry of External Affairs has sought a detailed report from the Defence Ministry on the claims of Army that there was massive presence of Chinese Army in Pakistan occupied Kashmir (PoK).

External Affairs Minister S M Krishna on Wednesday said that the government was reviewing the security system of the country.

After the claims made by the Northern Army Command chief, Lt-General KT Parnaik on Tuesday about the presence of Chinese forces in PoK, SM Krishna said, “Every step has been taken to ensure the security of the country.”

When asked about Parnaik’s claim, Foreign Secretary Nirupma Rao said, “We have sought a detailed report from the Defence Ministry,” adding that there has been infiltration of the Chinese forces along border. The line of actual control has not been fixed with China, so violations on the border take place from both sides.

Lt-General Parnaik on Tuesday said at a function in Jammu that there has been massive build-up of Chinese forces in the PoK.
