"We are ready to provide all help for establishing electronic manufacturing hubs as they will increase employment and revenue opportunities in the state. I have written to Bihar Chief Minister Jitan Ram Manjhi," said Prasad while addressing the two-day BJP state executive meet in Patna.

"The state just needs to provide us land and we will help establish electronic manufacturing centres. Prime Minister Narendra Modi wants India to develop in electronics and manufacturing of electronic goods," he said.

The Union Minister said he had written to Bihar CM a month ago, but was yet to receive a reply.

Elaborating his department's plans for Bihar, Prasad said Bharat Sanchar Nigam Limited (BSNL) was working towards setting up 500 new mobile towers during the 2014-15 fiscal to improve its connectivity across the state.

‘Mission 175' for Bihar Assembly polls

Buoyed by its landslide victory in recent Parliamentary elections in Bihar, BJP on Saturday gave a call for "Mission 175" to come to power in the state in the Assembly polls next year.

"We should win at least 175 seats in the Bihar Assembly polls next year," BJP national organisation General Secretary Ramlal said addressing a two-day state party executive meeting starting on Saturday.

"We could have set a target of 122 seats (required to come to power in the 243-member Bihar House)...but we want two-third majority to provide strong and good government," he said at the meeting aimed at drawing strategy for the crucial Assembly polls.

Riding on the Narendra Modi wave, BJP won 22 seats of the total of 40 Lok Sabha seats in Bihar while its ally LJP won 6 and Rashtriya Lok Samata Party 3 to take the tally to 31.

The BJP executive committee meeting is being attended by Union Ministers Radhamohan Singh, Ravishankar Prasad, newly elected MPs including actor-politician Shatrughan Sinha, Giriraj Singh, Ramkripal Yadav and Rajiv Pratap Rudy, former Deputy Chief Minister Sushil Kumar Modi and Leader of Opposition in Assembly Nand Kishore Yadav, among others.

"Around 70 new towers have already been set up during this financial year. BSNL will also set up 650 new towers in the next fiscal. This will solve connectivity issues of the service provider in the state," said Prasad.

He also said his ministry was chalking an ambitious plan to upgrade BSNL telephone exchanges in the state to modern digital ones by 2016 and they would have a capacity of 20 lakh phone lines.
Prasad said post-offices in several districts would be renovated and modern facilities would be made available at them and added optic fibre network would be brought to all panchayats of Bihar.
