New Delhi: The UPA is all set to rely on large sized attractive calendars to showcase its welfare schemes including Mahatma Gandhi National Rural Employment Guarantee Act (MNREGA) and several other programmes.

These calendars will be displayed in all the government’s offices, companies and autonomous bodies from the beginning of the New Year.

This time Central government has planned a mega event for its redemption and arranged special chariots to send these calendars to all corner of 9 states.

While releasing the calendar on Friday, Information and Broadcasting Minister Ambika Soni said, “These calendars will play a key role in informing people about the various UPA programmes.” 

Among other present on the occasion were Union Home Minister P Chidambaram, Health Minister Ghulam Nabi Azad, Human Resource Development Minister Kapil Sibal, Parliamentary Affairs Minister PK Bansal and Minister of state for Woman and Child Development Krishna Tirath.
