New Delhi: The intelligence agencies’ report over the Anna Hazare protest on August 16 in the national capital has put the Government in catch-22 situation whether to take stern action against the movement or not.

According to the intelligence reports, Ana Hazare is driving huge support for his strong Lokpla movement and the number of people turning up at the venue of Anna’s fast is expected to reach 20,000.

If the agitation goes on beyond stipulated time, the number can cross the 2 lakh figure.

The intelligence agencies have also suggested the Government not to do deal Anna’s movement the way it did with Baba Ramdev at Ramlila Maidan.

Delhi Police has permitted Anna and his team to hold fast in Jai Prakash Narain Park for two-and-a-half days after refusing permission to hold fast at Jantar Mnatar on security grounds.

Lokpal bill drafting committee member Prashant Bhushan has slammed the exercise as totally unconstitutional.

The Delhi Police has also put a condition that organizers should ensure that the gathering does not exceed4-5,000 people and the participants are channelized and seated in an organized manner and do not spill out on to the roads.

With both the Left and Right parties supporting Anna’s protest, the situation is only set to aggravate further.
