"Change in mindset is essential to stop crime against women. The state government is enforcing related laws strictly but cooperation of society is imperative," Raje said in a statement today.

"Rape, mental harassment and violation of rights are some of the challenges women are facing. Usually, women are given sacred status of 'Devi' but they are not treated as a common human being. This leads to discrepancies in our society which needs to be abolished," she added.

On female foeticide, Raje stated that it has to be stopped because 'when daughters will be protected, the world will be protected'.
