The ceremony takes place every Saturday at 10 am at the Rashtrapati Bhavan.

"The Change of Guard ceremony will not be held on Saturday, June 7 due to the full dress rehearsal by the President's Bodyguards in connection with the President's address to both houses of the parliament on June 9," a statement from Rashtrapati Bhavan said.

The ceremony is open to the public.

A military tradition, it involves the periodic change of guard, when a fresh body of troops takes charge.

It was opened to the public in 2007. To make it more visually appealing and public-friendly, it was revamped and relocated in December 2012 after President Pranab Mukherjee assumed office.
