Choreographer turned director Remo D'Souza says that his real name was Ramesh Gopi but changed it to Remo after getting his parents’ approval.

The director of movies like “F.A.L.T.U” and “ABCD: Anybody Can Dance”, confessed during an interview on Disney channel’s “Captain Tiao” that Remo was a name he chose for himself, said a statement.

"My real name is Ramesh Gopi. Though I love the name that my parents kept for me, I also like the name Remo a lot. Not to mention, I even took permission from my parents before I changed my name from Ramesh to Remo," he said.

Remo started his journey as choreographer but later he became a successful director. He judged dance reality show Jhalak Dikhhla Jaa in 2010 with actress Madhuri Dixit and director Karan Johar.

The episode will be aired Sunday at 10 am.
