The torrential rain has affected the air services while the train service between Thane and CST has also been suspended. Massive rainfall led to water logging in many parts of the city including Malji Rathod BPT Colony, Sion, King Circle, Hind Matha, Pratiksha Nagar, and National College.

Massive traffic jams hampered the vehicular movement near Lilavati Hospital in Bandra, Western Express highway, Eastern Freeway, and Dadar. The concerned authorities have been instructed by Thane’s tesildar office to depute rescue staff at these locations, especially at the foothills and low lying areas.

Moreover, the concerned authorities also chalked out an action plan to combat the situation. Equipped with the action plan, the rescue staffs have started working on action plan to handle the crisis in city.

To handle the crisis on the surface of the city, a meeting was organised where Thane mayor Sanjay More and civic commissioner Sanjeev Jaiswal and corporators stressed on action plan to mitigate issues at perennial inundation spots in the city during the rains.
