Patna: A chargesheet was on Thursday filed in a vigilance court against a former college principal and two others for embezzlement of scholarship of Rs 37.34 lakhs in the district welfare office at Ara town in Bihar's Bhojpur district ten years ago.

The chargesheet was filed in the court of the special judge (vigilance) Vijendra Kumar Chaudhary against the then principal of Jansahkari college at Gadhhani Narendra Kumar Pandey, the then clerk-cum-scholarship in-charge Nirukant Ram and the then attendent Baban Ram.

The vigilance bureau had lodged a case against the three on charges of embezzlement of Rs 37.34 lakh between 1991 and 2002 meant for scholarships to students.

A case was lodged against the college principal and two others under section 406, 409, 467, 468, 471, 477A of the IPC and under the provisions of the Prevention of Corruption Act.
