New Delhi: PWD Minister Rajkumar Chauhan, facing the heat after Delhi Lokayukta recommended his removal from the council of ministers, is likely to be asked to put in his papers.

According to the sources, the Delhi Government is planning to order an inquiry against Chauhan.
The Congress party is unwilling to give any chance to the main opposition Bhartiya Janta Party (BJP) to attack the government.

A similar decision by the Lokayukta was taken against the BJP ruled Karnataka’s Chief Minister, BS Yeddyurappa in which much hue and cry was made by the Congressmen for the CM’s removal.

Slamming the BJP over Yeddy’s issue, Congress leader Burari Mahadhiveshan has said that a few people are holding double standards in the fight against corruption.

Chauhan met Chief Minister Sheila Dikshit and other Congress leaders on Friday to seek support.

According the sources, a former Bollywood actress was also spotted in Delhi who is known to have good relations with some senior congress ministers. The actress is also said to be a Congress member.

The Lokayukta on Thursday had recommended to the President of India, Pratibha Patil for the removal of Chauhan from the council of ministers.

Chauhan has been accused of trying to influence a team of sales tax officers and stopping the VAT commissioner to investigate a fraud worth several crores. The officers were examining a case of possible tax evasion by a resort in south Delhi.
