Chhattarpur (MP): The district administration here has permitted the farmers for killing blue bulls (nilgai) causing damage to their crops, but with certain riders.
On the demand of the rural people, Chhattarpur Collector Rajesh Bahuguna has issued an order to give permission to kill blue bulls causing damage to their crops, official sources said on Tuesday.
As per the guidelines, only an application given by a group of farmers (not individuals) would be entertained for granting permission to kill blue bulls, subject to clearance by local forest ranger and a report by a revenue inspector.
A person in the group would be authorised to kill the animal and the permission once given would be valid only for 15 days, sources said. It is mandatory for the people to inform about the killing to the forest department, sources added.
