Raipur: In order to encourage the scheduled castes and scheduled tribes, Chhattisgarh government has decided to felicitate the SC/ST applicants who qualify for the examination organized by the Public Service Commission.

According to official sources, the Raman Singh led state’s BJP government has announced a cash award for the successful SC/ST applicants in the PSC exam.

The SC/ST applicants who are natives of Chhattisgarh will get Rs 10,000 for qualifying the preliminary exam while Rs 20,000 for clearing the main examination.

In order to avail the scheme, the applicant must be a native of the state and should be from the SC/ST category. Besides this, the applicant and his parents must not be among income-tax payers. The applicant would also be required to present a proof certificate of clearing the PSC exam or related documents to avail the prize money. Also, the applicant must not have taken the free residential training under any Central or state scheme.

The officials informed that the successful applicants will be awarded certificates on Independence Day and Republic Day functions.
