According to the data released by the board, as many as 4, 89,348 candidates have appeared for the coveted Chhattisgarh Board Class 10 Exam this year. The CGBSE 10th Board Exam began on 24 February 2016 and concluded on 14 March 2016. Keeping in mind the increased number of registered students for the CG Board 10th Exam, the board is anticipating the pass percentage and success ratio of students to be higher compared to last year.

In 2015, the CGBSE Class 10th Result was declared on 28 April, in which fate of over 4,11,367 registered students was announced. Of the 4 lakh students, who appeared for the exam, 2,21,846 were declared pass, which translates to an overall pass percentage of 55.23%. Keeping alive the trend of last few years, girls managed to outshine boys in 2015 as well, although very marginally. The overall pass percentage of girl students was recorded at 55.36%, whereas boys could only manage to register 55.08%.
