Raipur: Chhattisgarh Chief Minister Raman Singh has assured the freedom fighters residing in the state that a decision on the demand for raising their honorarium would be taken within a month, said official sources .

The freedom fighters of the state have been demanding a raise in their monthly honorarium.

A delegation of freedom fighters recently met the chief minister and requested him to increase their monthly honorarium from the present Rs 7,000.

Singh told the delegation that he has also sought information on the honorarium from the neighbouring MadhyaPradesh government.

After considering all aspects, the state government would take a decision on the issue within a month, sources said.
