"My government is delivering commendably on promises made to the people and has started working on the upcoming plans," the Governor said.

The state government had fulfilled its promise of procuring paddy on support price and set a record in the paddy procurement, he said.

Last year, the Chhattisgarh government procured 71.36 lakh metric tonne paddy and paid Rs 10,922 crore, including bonus to farmers, he said.

Since the state government procured paddy for the Centre's pool, it has written to the Prime Minister to provide Rs 2100 per quintal as support price to farmers, he said.

The state government has decided to provide Rs 300 per quintal bonus to paddy farmers from this kharif season, he said.

"My government had enacted effective Chhattisgarh Food and Nutritional Security Act 2012 to make the state free from hunger and malnutrition," he said.

“Senior female family members have been registered as heads of families on ration cards, which is a major step towards women empowerment,” he said.

The Chhattisgarh government has introduced, the 'Atal Agri Labourers' Insurance Scheme for more than 17 lakh agriculture labourers, he added.
