Raipur: Chhattisgarh High Court has slapped a ban order on the regular recruitment of lab technicians in the state which had courted controversy right from the beginning.

Remarkably, this recruitment was being made on the orders of joint Director, Health; Raipur Division which has been in the controversy since the beginning.

Health officials have often tampered with the recruitment process and have never followed as mandated in the advertisements.

Initially, the recruitment was to be done based merely on the basis of diploma certificates but the process was changed and an online examination was conducted.

It is believed that the applicants were unhappy over the change in recruitment process and took refuge in the High Court which slapped a stay order on the recruitment and asked the administration to clarify.

Meanwhile, the Health Department organized a meeting of the selection committee and again changed the recruitment process. This time marks obtained in 10+2 was made the criteria for selecting the candidates.  
Peeved applicants once again approached the state high court which gave a stay order on the entire process while terming the continuous change in schedule as unnecessary and inappropriate.

According to the applicants, technical qualification should be considered as the criteria for recruitment and thoseworking on contractual basis should be regularized on the basis of their job duration before the scheduled time.
