Raipur: Two youths including the son of Chhattisgarh Institute of Medical Sciences (CIMS) dean were killed when they slipped into a waterfall in Balod district of Chhattisgarh.
The mishap occurred when CIMS Dean S K Mohanty's son Sunil Mohanty (20) and his friend Agnivesh Sharma (20), slipped 40 ft down a waterfall while trying to wash their feet at the Siyadevi tourist spot in Naragaon village of Balod, police told on Thursday.
Eight students, including Sunil and Agnivesh, had gone to Siyadevi temple on Thursday to enjoy a picnic, police said.
Later the bodies were fished out with the help of villagers and sent for postmortem.
Both the youths died on the spot owing to grievous head injuries, police said.
Chhattisgarh Chief Minister Raman Singh also expressed grief over the demise of the two students.
