New Delhi: Facing boycott from the Opposition in the Parliament, Union Minister of Home Affairs P Chidambaram has fielded Home Secretary and chief of paramilitary forces along with a dozen of officers to explain about 75 achievements made by him during his three-year tenure in UPA.

However, Home Secretary RK Singh who counted the accomplishments made by Chidambaram during his switch over from Finance Minister to Home Affairs Minister mentioned only five failures.

The list of achievements includes introduction of Librahan Commission report in the Parliament and to organize four seminars for the Chief Ministers on internal security issue. Other activities are related to paramilitary forces.

Ironically, there was no mention about the 75 CRPF soldiers who lost their lives during gun battle with Naxals.  The incidence forced Chidambaram to post his resignation which was later rejected by Prime Minister Manmohan Singh. Failure in curbing Naxal menace in Bihar and Maharashtra was mentioned in single line.

Besides, mentioning about Pune Bakery blast, Mumbai and Delhi High Court blast, the triumph list included the revelation of Indian Mujahideen module.

The work report discusses about ten outstanding issues like establishment of anti-terror centre and amendments in the Armed Forces Special Power Act, however, the Home Ministry is not willing to speak out openly.
