New Delhi: In a clear indictment of Nitish Kumar government, the Central government has alleged that Anganwadi centres in the state are not providing nutritious food to school children in the state.

During the Question hour of Rajya Sabha, Minister of Women and Child Development (Independent charge) Krishna Tirath informed this to the House.

Replying to a supplementary question of RJD MP Ram Kripal Yadav, Tirath said that she has personally witnessed the state of affairs in the state where Anganwadi centres are not giving nutritious food to children suffering from malnourishment.

“I have seen it myself in Gaya district," said Tirath.

The Minister apprised the House that she even wrote to Bihar Chief Minister in this regard.
Drawing attention of the House, Tirath mentioned that the funds allocated by the Centre to eradicate malnourishment should be used accordingly.

She said that to improve the condition the government has decided to implement Child Development projects in mission mode to solve the problem of malnourishment.
