"The skies will become partly cloudy with the maximum temperature likely to hover around 17 degrees Celsius," said an India Meteorological Department (IMD) official.

The fog with visibility at around 300 meters affected train operations. According to Northern Railway, 33 trains were running late, six were rescheduled and two trains were cancelled. The humidity at 8.30 am was 97 percent.

Wednesday's maximum temperature was recorded four notches below the season's average at 16.5 degrees Celsius, while the minimum temperature settled three notches above the season's average at 10.2 degrees Celsius.
