The deaths and those who went missing happened between May 1 (when the flood season started in the province) and August 20, a state-run news agency said.

The provincial government has provided 58 million yuan (USD 9.5 million) and deployed 2.47 lakh people for flood relief works, said the headquarters.
The National Meteorological Center (NMC) maintained an alert for rainstorms on Sunday as heavy rains are expected to batter Yunnan, the agency report said. Precipitation in the province is expected to reach between 100 and 150 mm, the NMC said.
