New Delhi: China appears to have relaxed its policy of issuing stapled visa to people hailing from Jammu and Kashmir. Ahead of Prime Minister Manmohan Singh's visit to China, the communist nation has issued proper pasted visas to four journalists born in the state in its Delhi based embassy.

The journalists are part of the media delegation that will travel with the Prime Minister. Born in Jammu and Kashmir, they work for PTI, UNI, Akashwani and some other agency. India had in the past asked China to adopt the same visa policy for all its citizens.

Significantly, India had taken up the issue of stapled visa during the visit of Chinese Prime Minister Wen Jiabao.

According to the External Affairs Ministry spokesman, both the countries had expressed the desire to work together to sort out the issue.

Recently, India’s military ties with China turned sour following later's stapled visa policy for the residents of Jammu and Kashmir.
