Since his young age he nurtured the dream of becoming a director, but destiny had something else in store for him. His debut movie Jaane Tu Ya Jaane Na (2008) was a hit and his performance was appreciated and he got Filmfare Best Male Debut Award.

Being the nephew of Aamir Khan, Imran was likely compared with the Mr. Perfectionist for his performance in “Jaane Tu Ya Jaane Na” as he carried the charm similar to Aamir Khan in “Qayamat se Qayamat Tak”.
His movies like Delhi Belly, Break Ke Baad', 'I Hate Luv Storys', and 'Mere Brother Ki Dulhan' and Matru Ki Bijli Ka Mandola was commercially successful.

“Delhi Belly”, an adult comedy stuff became a rage among youngsters and Imran’s performance was critically acclaimed.
The actor has also starred in films like 'Kidnap', 'Luck', Ek Main Aur Ek Tu,  Once Upon a Time in Mumbai Again', Gori Tere Pyaar Mein but failed to succeed commercially.

Reportedly, the youngest Khan of tinsel town is expecting his first child with his wife Avantika Singh. The couple will welcome the baby in June 2014.
