New Delhi: Bollywood’s favourate chocolaty boy Shahid Kapoor turns a year older on Saturday as he celebrates his 31st birthday. Being born to two veteran actors, Pankaj Kapur and Neelima Azeem on this day in 1981, Shahid has acting in his genes. He is grown as an actor. Through his critically acclaimed movie like Jab We met, Fida,  Shikhar, Kaminey and his commercial blockbuster hit flick Vivaah, Shahid carved his niche. He accepted all the criticism and tried to improve his acting skill always.

As a gifted dancer, Shahid’s glam journey started with struggle. His musical albums and commercial ads helped him make groove in this glitzy industry. Besides this, our Shaha (Shahid Kapoor) is mostly famous for his lady loves in industry rather than his films.

The special guest for the evening has raised many eyebrows as she has neither shared screen space with Shahid nor she is related to the actor in any way. She is none other than the ‘Rockstar’ actress Nargis Fakhri.

Most of the guests are reported to have flown down to Goa on Thursday night but Shahid left for Goa on Wednesday for the necessary arrangements accompanied by ‘Rockstar’ actress Nargis Fakhri. Rani Mukherjee, Tabu, Genelia-Riteish and Kunal Kohli are some of the celebrities invited to the bash but the prominent one who is left out is Shahid Kapoor’s alleged girlfriend Priyanka Chopra.

Apart from his link ups, Shahid is a very good human being and a fitness freak also as he received PETA Asia Sexiest Vegetarian Award. Shahid Kapoor is one of the most physically fit actors in B-town. He sports such a chiseled male body, something which several men dream of. In the movie ‘Chance pe Dance’ the vegetarian actor went beyond the six packs and flaunted an eight pack. So what helps Shahid maintain such a great physique? My work-out routine:

I make it a point to run on trade mill atleast 15 minutes a day. Whenever I find time from my busy schedule I religiously do exercise to maintain a good physique. In order to attain an enviable physique, it’s extremely important that you include exercise in your daily routine. A fine balance between cardiovascular exercise and weight training is needed for chiseled body.

My fitness trainer Abbas Ali has been instrumental in helping me build this physique. If I don’t get time time to hit the gym, I do regular exercise at home.

Diet plan:

According to me a challenging workout must be accompanied with nutritious diet to achieve a good body.

Carbohydrate, protein and fat must be as ingredients in your daily diet precisely. I make sure to have the right breakfast, pre-workout snack, post-workout snack, and small meals throughout the day. I avoid fried foods and too much of aerated drinks. Oily, greasy stuffs are a big `NO’ for me as far as my daily dietary intake is concerned. I used to eat every three hours during the day.

Tips of the month:

Though it is said that leisurely walk is good for health, a new study says that jogging is much more effective. Brisk walking or a little stroll is not enough to shed those extra kilos. To get a good physique one has to sweat out a lot. Do jogging or play tennis as they are considered good exercise. It will also improve your immune system.
