Bhopal: Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan has asked the power officials to speed up work towards providing round-the-clock power supply to people for boosting the state's economy.

The state government has spent Rs 10,000 crore for streamlining power sector and it should be ensured that its benefits reached the common man with improvement of power supply and minimisation of distribution losses, Chouhan said while addressing a workshop of energy department's field officers on Monday evening.

He said remarkable increase has been registered in power generation and the farmers' satisfaction level is also good.

Power is vital for development and feeder separation work should be expedited and completed within time-limit since it is a priority sector of the state government, he said.

Every possible effort should be made to complete feeder separation work in all the districts by March 2013, he added.
