Bhopal: All Gram Panchayats in the state would be allocated funds through Integrated Planning and Budgetary System for their overall development, said Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan on the Foundation Day of Madhya Pradesh here on Tuesday.

Chouhan said that 23,000 gram panchayats of the state under the Integrated Planning and Budgetary Distribution System would get a fund of Rs 3371 crore in one go.

The government claimed that through this hefty amount 52,000 villages under these gram panchayats would witness all-round development.

Panchayat & Rural Development and Social Justice Minister Gopal Bhargava said, “As the amount was given in parts against various purposes it was not utilized properly. Taking this aspect into consideration, the government has decided to give the fund in a comprehensive way.”

As per the new Budgetary Distribution System, the panchayats have to prioritise their developmental activities so that they may include the works related to gram panchyat, construction of Aaganwadi Bhawan, and other public utility services, the Minister added.
