Bahadurgarh: The celebration was on its peak at Sehwag’s village Churaani when India’s swashbuckling batsman Virender Sehwag achieved an incomparable feat at Indore against West Indies.

Villagers in Churaani and its nearby areas were tangoing on Sehwag’s calypso. They bursted crackers and congratulated each other for this mammoth record.

Few days back, Indian opening batman who scored a record 219 in ODIs came to visit his village for promotion of an advertisement.

“No batsmen in the world will be able to achieve this feat easily that our lad Sehwag has created,” Praveen Dankhad, Sehwag’s neighbour in Churaani village said.

“Every mother should be proud who gives birth to the son like Sehwag” a 60-year-old Jaishree said, who doesn’t know much about cricket but loves to see devastating Sehwag while batting.

Congratulating Sehwag on the behalf of entire village, Dayasagar, an abbot of Churaani village said, “The entire village is proud of Viru. We will wish…..may Sehwag break his own record to create a new history.”

Indore’s pitch curator SS Chouhan said, “Before the start of the match, I was thinking that the team batting first will put 300-350 runs on the scoreboard, but I was extremely amazed when the unstoppable Team India crossed the 400 runs mark and set a historic 418 runs target against the West Indies. I am very happy that my hard work paid off and all cricket fans relished Sehwag’s batting.”

From the last three matches, Sehwag’s bat was silent and now with this blistering knock he slammed all his critics. Hope, he will maintain his form against Australia as well,” he said.
