Bhopal: Madhya Pradesh Director General of Police, Nandan Dubey, has ordered a CID probe against ex-Ujjain SP Manmeet Narang of the state following a complaint by slain Sohrabuddin Sheikh’s brother Rubabuddin.  Rubabuddin has accused then Ujjain SP Manmeet Narang of falsely implicating him and eight others under pressure from Gujarat Police.

Seeking action against the then SP Narang, Rubabuddin in his application to DGP, alleged Narang of arresting him in false cases on the night of January 27, 2009 at his home at Jharania village in Ujjain district, the same day of Gujarat DGP P C Pandey‘s visit to Ujjain.

DGP has sent the complaint to ADG CID M R Krishna for investigation.

In 1994, Gujarat Police found around a dozen AK-47 rifles in a well of Sohrabuddin Sheikh’s Jharania house who was associated at a notorious gang of Mumbai underworld.

Sohrab later indulged in extortion of marble traders and finally he was killed on November 26, 2005 in an alleged fake encounter in Ahmedabad.
