Kolkata: CID is all set to submit chargesheet against former CPI (M) minister and legislator Sushanta Ghosh and others accused in case of skeleton cartridges which were seized during a search of the minister’s residences in Garhbeta ,West Midnapore district.

CID, which has almost completed its investigation in the case, is likely to file the chargesheet in the second week of September and is trying to present another accused CPM leader Madan Santra in the skeleton cartridges case as the government witness, according to reports.

Speaking about the case, a CID official said that any bail plea for Shushant Ghosh would be opposed if filed. With court permission, CID had interrogated Ghosh in jail.

It should be learnt that Ghosh was absconding after seven skeleton cartridges were found from his West Midnapore residence.
The Lower court has already rejected his bail plea despite anticipatory bail being earlier granted by the Calcutta High court.
