Patiala: Punjab and Madhya Pradesh semifinals clash of the Colonel CK Nayudu Trophy has reached in an exciting round at the Dhruv Pandav Stadium on Saturday.

Chasing a mammoth 601 by Punjab, Madhya Pradesh were tottering at 276 with a loss of three wickets at the end of Day 3.

Opener PY Sharma and SD Chowdhary played sturdily and propelled their team to put a healthy score on the board. Sharma struck 90 off 209 balls with the help of 12 boundaries, whereas Chowdhary contributed 87 off 242 balls and smashed 13 fours around the fence.

After that MP’s middle order batsman Manoj Singh took the charge and scored 40 runs in just 78 balls against Punjab.

HJ Bhatia (34) and AH Bains (4) were unbeatable at the crease at the end of the play on Day 3.

On the other hand, Punjab’s SJS Gill, GR Singh and YS Kumar bagged one wicket each to give success to their team.

The umpire called off the third day match 45 minutes prior due to bad light.
