Gaya: Four persons were injured in a bloody clash in Gaya on Sunday evening when people of two communities took out a procession over installation of Hanuman idol on the occasion of Ram Navami.

According to police, the clash broke out when a group of people pelted stones at the processionists at the disputed place near Pantnagar bypass.

The injured were rushed to a private hospital. Locals alleged that the police tried to stop people from installing the idol at the public place. Police used batons to disperse the crowd.

Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP) Vinay Kumar said that the move was taken in compliance with the Supreme Court's order. He claimed that the idol would be removed and installed at another religious place with full dignity and respect.
