Lucknow/ Kanpur: Tightening the noose around Deputy Chief Medical Officer, Family Welfare, Dr YS Sachan, who has been charged with hatching the conspiracy to get his two seniors murdered, police came up with a startling revelation that he had used counterfeit caste certificate to get the doctor’s degree.

After the CBCID team probed the matter, a case was registered against the DCMO at Ghatampur police station of Kanpur, and a chargesheet was submitted in the court. Dr Sachan has already taken a stay order from the court in this issue.

However, the CBCID officials have sought information of the fake medical degrees of the DCMO from the Ghatampur police.

Interestingly, around 10 years back, a resident of Dr Sachan’s native village Patrasa had alleged him of forging the documents to get the doctor’s degree. The issue was brought to the knowledge of the state government, following which a CBCID inquiry was ordered into the matter.

According to IG Suvesh Kumar Singh, in 2002 it was found that though Dr Sachan is a Kurmi by caste, he had submitted a SC certificate to get admission in the MBBS course. After the investigation, the CBCID team had registered a case against the DCMO at Ghatampur police station and had submitted a chargesheet in the court. However, Dr Sachan was successful in getting a stay order in the case from the court.

The residents of Patrasa village also term Dr Sachan a shrewd person who is not at good term with several families of the village.

Dr Sachan is in the thick of controversy for his alleged involvement in the murder of two CMOs of the Family Welfare Department. The three assailants recently arrested by the State STF from Lucknow had disclosed the DMCO’s name.
