Ranchi: The Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) on Saturday conducted raids at the premises of coal traders in Jharkhand and Bihar in connection with coal linkage scam worth Rs 2000 crore.

The CBI raid continued till late evening at the GIL Church Complex and Panchwati Plaza offices of Dhanuka Group and Naresh Kejriwal, respectively.

Apart from this, raids were also conducted at Rajat Fuel owned by Ashok Singh in Hazaribagh and Jyoti Vikas and Hindustan Industries at Bhojpur in Bihar were also raided till late evening.

The probe agency recovered important documents revealing the case of forgery. It is believed that coal which were procured in the name of domestic was, were sold at the commercial rate.

The documents mention about salt coke factory which does not exist. It is worth mentioning that under e-auction, the rate of coal for domestic use is sold at half the price of coal meant for commercial use.
