Asked whether CBI will examine the Prime Minister, Sinha said, "I cannot rule out or confirm. I do not want to make comments in this regard."

His comments were sought in the wake of a report that the investigation team in the coal block allocation scam has suggested questioning the Prime Minister which the CBI Director has put on hold.

Senior Superintendent of Police KR Chaurasia, on perusal of the material collected during investigation, had desired that Manmohan Singh, in charge of the Coal Ministry between 2006 and 2009, required to be questioned.

CBI has so far registered 13 FIRs in connection with the coal blocks allocation scam.
