Chandigarh: Cold conditions on Friday prevailed in most parts of Punjab and Haryana with night temperatures hovering a notch or two below normal.

In Haryana, Ambala recorded a low of 5.1 degrees Celsius, one below normal, while Hisar's low of 5.6 degree Celsius settled within the normal range.

Karnal experienced a cold night at 4 degree Celsius, down three notches, while Narnaul and Bhiwani recorded respective minimums of 6.2 degree Celsius and 5.2 degree Celsius.

Amritsar in Punjab braved the chill at 2.4 degree Celsius minimum, two below normal. Ludhiana registered a low of 6.2 degree Celsius, down one degree while Patiala's minimum settled at 6.6 degree Celsius.

Chandigarh recorded a low of 5.7 degree Celsius, the MeT said here. The MeT said that the fog had reduced visibility early on Friday at Ludhiana and Karnal, the MeT office said.
