Chandigarh, Jan 08 (Agencies): Piercing cold wave sweeping Punjab, Haryana and Chandigarh continued on Saturday with fog once again throwing normal life out of gear.

Freezing cold gripped Narnaul in Haryana, which was the coldest place in the two states, recording a low of 1.5 degrees Celsius, down four notches, the MeT said here.

Icy cold winds swept Hisar, which recorded a low of 2.4 degree Celsius, down three degrees, while the minimum at Bhiwani was 4.2 degree Celsius, also three below normal level.

Rohtak and Gurgaon also braved the chill recording respective minimums of 3.1 degree Celsius and 6.5 degree Celsius.       

In Punjab, freezing chill swept Ludhiana and Patiala which recorded respective lows of 4.2 deg C and 3 deg C, both down by three notches each.

Amritsar recorded a low of 4.4 degree Celsius. The MeT forecast says that cold conditions are likely to continue in the two states and Chandigarh till Sunday.
