Keylong and Kalpa in tribal districts of Lahaul and Spiti recorded night temperatures at minus 5.6 degrees Celsius and minus 1.8 degrees while Manali (1 degree Celsius), Bhuntar (2.8 degrees Celsius), Solan (3.7 degrees Celsius) and Sundernagar (3.8 degrees Celsius), all witnessed temperatures two degrees below normal.
While both the city and Palampur recorded minimum temperatures at 5.5 degrees Celsius, Una, Nahan and Dharamsala witnessed minimum temperatures at 7.2 degrees Celsius, 8.5 degrees Celsius and 9.2 degrees Celsiusrespectively.
Meanwhile, thick fog engulfed towns along river banks in the morning while ground frost covered most places in the mid and higher hilly regions.
The maximum temperatures at most places remained steady with Una recording a high of 26.4 degrees Celsius, followed by Sundernagar (24.6 degrees Celsius), Bhuntar (23 degrees Celsius), Solan (22.2 degrees Celsius), Nahan (21.9 degrees Celsius), Dharamsala (18.8 degrees Celsius), Shimla (17 degrees Celsius) and Kalpa (12.8 degrees Celsius).
The local MeT office has predicted dry weather in the region in the next four days with no significant temperature change.
