Srinagar, the summer capital of Jammu and Kashmir, recorded a low of minus 2.3 degrees Celsius, down from the previous night's minus 1.7 degrees Celsius, an official of the Meteorological department said here.
The night temperature in Qazigund, the gateway town to Kashmir Valley, dropped by two notches from 0.6 degree Celsius to settle at a low of minus 1.8 degrees Celsius, the official said.
He said the north Kashmir town of Kupwara recorded a low of minus 2.2 degrees Celsius while Kokernag town in south, registered a low of minus 0.2 degree Celsius.
However, the official said, the mercury in the famous ski-resort of Gulmarg in north Kashmir increased from a low of minus 8 degrees Celsius the previous night to settle at a low of minus 6 degrees Celsius.
