Pune: A group of students who recently took admission in WLCI College at Prabhat Road, Pune, allege that during admission the college assured them that they had been enrolled for a Masters of Business Management course (MBA).

However, when the college started they found out that there was no such course available at WLCI.  Many students along with their parents now want to cancel their admission and want a refund of fees. According to parents, the institute has collected fees between Rs 2.25 and 2.5 lakh per student while giving admission for an MBA course. Yesterday, they approached Deccan Police station. However no police complaint has been filed yet.

“My friend’s sister has taken admission in WLCI College. She was told the course she had applied for was an MBA course, but on the first day of college she was surprised to find there was no such course,” said Hanik Bafna, who tried to help his friend cancel admission.

“We have given an application to the police requesting them to look into the matter and have asked the WLCI management to return fees. No police complaint has been filed yet,” said Bafna.

Despite repeated attempts, campus director of WLCI Col Sanjib Naag remained unavailable for comment. Deccan Police Station PI Manohar Joshi said, “Some students and parents of WLCI have approached us. But no one has filed a complaint against the college management.”
