DDA Vice-President Balwinder Kumar on Friday chastised Housing Department officials over the issue. Mincing no words, DDA Vice-President asked banks to ensure availability of forms to the common people. The DDA has already dispatched four lakh forms to 13 banks. On the other hand, the common public could purchase only 1.5 lakh application forms on the fifth day of the announcement of scheme.

It has been reported that the Housing Department officials have been giving phony information to the DDA Vice-President that all the branches of selected banks are providing forms. However, the fact is that the DDA forms are not available at every branch of these banks.

Axis Bank’s Mayur Vihar Phase-II branch did not receive any form till Friday. Thousands of people come to the branch daily but to much of their disenchantment, all of them have to return empty handed.

Similarly, the DDA forms are still not available at several other branches of these banks in New Delhi.

The DDA office witnesses a long queue of people waiting to grab their hands over the forms which are also being sold in black market due to its unavailability in maximum branches.

In fact, the form which usually costs Rs 150 is being sold in black in a range of Rs 300 to Rs 500.

People who are not able to get forms from DDA headquarters are now buying them illegally from shady black marketers who are reaping benefits.

In INA market, several shopkeepers are selling these forms in black. A complaint has been registered with the DDA office over the illegal sale of forms.

The DDA officials say that a police complaint has already been registered to take stern action in this regard.

The DDA is disseminating information through advertisement to stop people to buy forms in black, appealing that everyone will get the forms but they would need to stay patient.

In one such case, an official from the Archaeological Survey of India (ASI), Rakesh Chandra sent one of his relatives to buy the DDA form from New Delhi’s Janpath and its surrounding areas where no form was available.

Following the disappointment, he came to know that the forms were available at two branches in Khan Market area but those forms were also sold out till 1 pm in the noon.
