New Delhi: When it comes to purchasing a mobile handset in India, cheap and cheerful has been the order of the day. The demand for low end mobiles has shot over the roof, and the mobile companies have engrossed themselves in a cut throat competition to outsmart each other in this segment.

The competition is not for manufacturing low cost mobiles, but a special impetus is being given on maximum possible features to lure the consumers vying for pocket friendly models. Expecting 8.5 percent growth in next fiscal, the companies are now planning to introduce mobile handsets ranging below Rs 1,000.

 iVK Mobile, the mobile manufacturing company under SICT brand, is planning to introduce a mobile handset costing less than Rs 1,000. Eying the demand for low cost mobiles, the company is making an effort to strengthen its place in the market by launching the cheapest handset but with more features.
Of the entire mobile industry in India, 75 percent of market comprises  low cost handsets. According to a survey, the mobile market in India will worth Rs 23.10 crore by next year.

iVK Mobile CEO, Anil Kaushik told Dainik Jagran, “Observing the market advantage, the company is planning to launch a handset model at price less than Rs 1,000. The advantage of this set is long durable battery along with major features of a handset.”

At present there are seven models of the company in low-cost segment available at Rs 1350 to Rs 2299.
Kaushik told Jagran, the company is also planning to launch a low cost, touch screen Android model in the market. Moreover, a 7-inches capacity touch screen tablet is also on the cards for the company.
