New Delhi: There is an utter restlessness within the Centre over the economic slowdown in the country. With presumptions of the economic growth rate going much lower than 7 percent, the government is working out a plan of action to overcome this crisis.

President Pratibha Patil during her address to the Parliament on the eve of budget session is likely to indicate the steps that the government has outlined to tackle the crisis. Patil may urge the opposition to support the government in order to sail through the difficult circumstances.

According to sources, Finance Minister Pranab Mukherjee informed the Cabinet of the present economic condition. Pranab said that the President’s address may help form a consensus on the issues relating to economic reforms.

The address will also focus on the importance of maintaining 8-9 percent growth rate for the next two years.
