The main focus of the conference, being organized by Water Technology Centre at Tamil Nadu Agricultural University, would be on reviewing the present status of groundwater potential, depletion rate in view of increasing urbanization and deterioration of groundwater quality, a university release said in Coimbatore on Saturday.

Around 150 farm scientists, agricultural engineering, planners, research scholars, students and farmers will participate in the conference. Representatives from micro irrigation companies and NGOs involved in water theme would share their experience under Public Private Participatory (PPP) mode.

The outcome would help consolidate technologies suitable for adoption to ground water management so that these could be recommended for adoption, it said.
