Bhopal: Opposition Congress has attacked the Madhya Pradesh government on the issue of recent reported searches by Income Tax officials on the premises of two businessmen.

The searches were allegedly carried out last month in the state where the BJP has been in power since 2003.

Leader of Opposition in Assembly Ajay Singh recently came out with a set of 11 questions through newspaper advertisements related to the matter and sought answers from Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan.

The Congress in the state has been critical of Chouhan for his "total silence" on the issue and on June 29, party leader Digvijay Singh had sought Team Anna's cooperation on it.

An official spokesman said newspapers were these days carrying reports about the searches, but the I-T department had not sent any official communication to the state government.
